Barbara Gehrig is a 27-year veteran of the cable telecommunications industry. As Senior Vice President for Comcast’s Maryland/Delaware Region, Gehrig was CEO and COO of the regional operations for the nation’s leading provider of cable, entertainment, and communications products and services. An active part of her role included listening to the needs of customers & relevant stakeholders while fostering relationships between the company and communities it served. In this capacity, Gehrig led a team of 3,500 employees who provided new services to more than one million customers. This culmination of experience uniquely qualifies her to manage Carex’s operations in order to ensure the satisfaction of our residents and their families.
Gehrig’s commitment to community is highlighted by her service on numerous business, civic, and professional boards. This includes Chair of the Greater Baltimore Committee, an organization comprised of the top 50 CEOs in the Greater Baltimore Region, Board Member of the Living Classrooms Foundation, and the Towson University Board of Visitors. Gehrig was later appointed by the Governor to serve on the Boards of the University of Maryland Medical System and the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture.
Throughout her career, Gehrig received numerous awards for her dedication and outstanding track record balancing her love for cause and community. She was recognized by various regional and national publications as one of the “Top 50 Business Women in Baltimore”, “Top Influential Women,” and “Maryland’s Top 100 Women.”
Gehrig received her Bachelor of Science, Accounting, from the University of Maryland.
