Jean Francois Roy is a visionary and career developer of luxury residential experiences. He brings over 40 years of development expertise split between creating one of Canada’s largest portfolio of adult communities and one of South Florida’s most enviable collection of waterfront properties nurtured through a long-term investment approach. He has an eye for identifying unlocked value in real estate complimented by both product and financing acumen that distinctively situate him to lead responsible new developments in South Florida.
Roy is passionate about building great projects that reflect forward thinking progress for neighborhoods and their residents. Roy is deeply committed to creating lasting residential experiences that equally cultivate value for clients, communities, and relevant stakeholders.
While based in Montreal, Roy was the founder and entrepreneur behind the rise of Carex, a luxury adult care developer and operator that turned around or built eight leading communities in the region. Since transitioning to South Florida and founding Ocean Land, he has developed signature projects such as the Trump Hollywood, the Ritz-Carlton Singer Island, Lauderdale-by- the-Sea’s AquaZul, and five “Aqua” branded boutique condominium projects in East Fort Lauderdale. Roy’s four-decade track record of conceptualizing and building adult care and luxury residential condominiums uniquely positions him to deliver on his vision of creating first-class senior living communities for South Florida families.
Roy serves on the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is the Vice Chair of their Real Estate Committee.
Roy received his Bachelor of Science, Business Administration from the Laval University with a License in Accounting and completed his 2 years of work experience at Arthur Andersen. Roy earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Quebec.
